What's the cheapest way to get to Venice from Amsterdam?

I checked the eurorail online and it said train tickets for 2 is about $580 USD. That seems way too much. Would it be a lot cheaper if I were to buy tickets when I get to Amsterdam? Does anyone know if flying is cheaper? Also, anyone know how long the distance is to get to Venice ( Hours wise)? What's the cheapest way to get to Venice from Amsterdam?
http://www.ryanair.com Ryanair flies from Eindhoven, Netherlands to Milan/Bergamo airport. The flights on July 1,2,3 are very cheap. Like on July 3 it's 39 euros one way. You can get direct buses from Amsterdam Centraal Station to eindhoven airport (about 2 hours) then take the train to Venice once you get to Italy.

A little farther from Amsterdam, but a little closer to Venice, you can fly to Venice/Treviso from Dusseldorf (Weeze airport) of from Brussels Charleroi. You can get to these airports from Amsterdam by train or train/shuttle bus combo in less than 2 hours, then the flights are cheap, like about 35 euros one way.

Transavia flies from Amsterdam to Treviso (very close to Venice) for 131 euros one way July 1. http://www.transavia.com

You can search on google (or yahoo search) "eindhoven airport" or "treviso airport" etc. to get instructions on transport to and from the airport.
There are lots of cheap airlines in europe and you can pick up some cheap flights at times...try skyscanner.net which has lots of the cheap airlines in europe....it depends on when you are going as well. What's the cheapest way to get to Venice from Amsterdam?
like someone else said.. easy jet and ryan air are both inexpensive, but be careful if ur a backpacker... they both have pretty low weight limits on baggage... and if you go over the limit the ticket can be more than a ticket on a luftansa flight. Venice is a pretty good distance from Amsterdam... $580 for 2 people isn't a terrible price in US dollars.

Its prob about a 3 hour flight if its non-stop... driving would be I'm guessing about 15-20 hours, not sure by train.
A lot of the websites that sell European train tickets to Americans are ripoffs and you can get much better deals just buying tickets in Europe.

The discount airline Transavia would probably be cheaper than the train.
cheap airline Ryan Air (think Europe's Southwest) should be cheaper than that and faster. By train it could be around 24 hours or round abouts.
the absolute cheapest way is hitchhiking.
easyjet or ryanair. Only about 100, probably. You have to check.
