If you know your itinerary, try tarif Joker (I think there is J8 and J30 - meaning how well in advance you have to buy the tickets) and there is a special tarif for 2 young people traveling together.
If you undesrtand some French - check www.sncf.fr FFENCH version - it has much more information than the English version of the same site.
