Does anyone know how long it takes to get from Amsterdam to Venice on the train?

I'm traveling to Europe this summer %26amp; need to know if anyone can tell me how long is it on the eurorail from Amsterdam to Venice?Does anyone know how long it takes to get from Amsterdam to Venice on the train?
Amsterdam to Venice takes anywhere from 14 hr 36 min to 20 hr on the train and uses two days on your Eurail pass. There will also be supplemental fees to pay for the trains when you use the pass. The minimum number of train changes is 2 (Frankfurt and Munich), that option takes over 18 hours. You leave Amsterdam at 12:34 pm and arrive in Frankfurt at 4:30 pm change to a train leaving at 4:54 pm and arrive in Munich at 8:05 pm. The night train leaves at 9:03 pm and arrives in Venice at 6:38 am the next morning. You would not have to reserve the trains from Amsterdam to Frankfurt and Munich, but do have a mandatory reservation on the night train from Munich to Venice. This will cost you 9 euro if you sit through the night, 25 euro for a berth in a 6 bed compartment, or 35 euro for a berth in a 4 bed compartment. http://www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/index.s鈥?/a>

You could also go from Amsterdam to Paris (3 hr 19 min) and take the night train to Venice (13 hr). If you do this you'll need reservations on each of the trains and you need to allow time to go from the Paris Nord station where the train from Amsterdam arrives to the Paris Bercy station where the train to Venice departs. You walk from the Paris Nord station to the section of the station where the RER trains run (about 10 min) and then catch a train to Paris Lyon Banlieue (about 8 min) and from there you can walk to the Bercy station. If you've got a lot of luggage, just get a cab from Paris Nord to Paris Bercy.

The fastest option requires you to start at Amsterdam at 7:04 am and change trains at the Frankfurt airport, Mannheim, Basel, Arth-Goldau, and Milan and has some very short connection times at some of the stops. Other options on the train require 3 to 5 changes en route.

The train is a long trip; there is another option - Transavia airlines is a budget airline that flies from Amsterdam Schiphol airport to Treviso and Verona. This is what I use going between my home near Venice and Amsterdam. As much as I like the train, this is a cheaper and much faster option for me since I usually go for the weekend and don't have the pass: http://www.transavia.com/hv/en-EU/home With the Eurail pass, you can decide whether you want to use 2 travel days for the trip or fly.

For working out any rail trips, use the Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) trip planner at http://www.bahn.com/i/view/index.shtml - even for trips that do not go through Germany as it will still show you the details.

Using that website, I found that you have a few options, but the minimal travel time by train will be 17 hours. Of course, you may do a large portion of the journey on a night train so you may sleep on-board if you wish. As an example, you may travel from Amsterdam to Paris, and then switch to a night train in Paris to sleep on the way to Venice. Alternatively, you could travel to Munich and catch a night train from there.

By the way, you said "how long is it on the eurorail". Just to be pedantic, "Eurorail" is a type of rail pass, not a type of train or a train line. The Eurorail pass gives you access to the national rail lines of many European countries.

Have a great trip!
