Is buying a Euro Rail pass worth it?

Im going to be traveling in 4 or 5 countries throughout Western Europe next year. Im staying at each of my destinations for about a month so I wont be on the road too much. Should I buy a EuroRail pass, or buy travel tickets as I go?Is buying a Euro Rail pass worth it?
It really depends on your travel plans. There is an excellent discussion of when a pass is worth the cost here: http://www.seat61.com/Railpass.htm

In general, it is often cheaper to get point-to-point tickets if you have a specific travel plan and can buy the tickets in advance to take advantage of available discounts. This can take some research and effort though. You need to be aware that most high speed trains, international trains, and night trains require an additional reservation/supplemental fee when you're using a pass. These are not required for the slower regional trains that make a lot of stops. In your case, if you're not traveling a lot, you would probably be better off with individual tickets rather than a pass.
If the only train travel you're planning on is going in between the countries you're visiting, then the pass probably is not worth it. The Eurail passes are designed for people doing heavy train travel in a short period, and not necessarily those people doing occasional train travel. Is buying a Euro Rail pass worth it?
Euro Rail pass is valid for only a month is it not? Then it should be of no use to you.

My opinion is no it is not worht it in your situation.
