Are there any websites that will help me plan a roughly 2 month backbacking trip through europe? I mean help me with everything, flight from US to Dublin, Eurorail tickets, hostels ectAre there any websites that will help me plan a backpacking trip through europe?
I would probably start with the following:
- Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org ) - thorough information about cities and countries, to get a background where to go
- http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e鈥?/a> - train schedules throughout Europe
- http://www.iyhf.org/ - Hostelling International - affordable hostel network (in some countries, such as Switzerland, you will not find cheaper and more pleasant ones)
- http://www.eurolines.com/ - international buses across Europe (especially advantageous if you are not a European and you cannot use discounted train passes, such as Eurodomino or Interrail)
- Plus a plenty of regionally specific sites which you have to "google" or "yahoo!" because there are several of them per country. But in general, it may be a better idea to buy a guidebook which you bring with you instead of surfing the web - it will take you much longer and you will never get such a bredth and depth on the internet. At least for now.
Enjoy Europe!
Try this website:

It's got a lot of tips for backpacking, Railtickets can be purchased there, too, and it has a lot of info about the destinations and will give you good ideas.
Some parts of the website:
-Rick's railpass guide helps you find the best deal. Plan your rail itinerary with maps, train schedules.
-Articles and tips on smart European travel, by country and topic.
-Share tips with other travelers on more than 100 topics.
....
I think that's a real good way to start. Are there any websites that will help me plan a backpacking trip through europe?
