Neither. Fly!

Seriously, Ryanair (Ryanair.com) flies all over Europe, they're awesome, and they're SUPER cheap. You can't beat it!Help! euroline or eurorail? 25 and 26 year old. from venice-budapest,1 month in budapest,25 days around europe
You should check out www.interrail.com also. They have reasonable prices too.

I also found this on the hungarian railway's page:

http://www.mav-start.hu/utazas/nemzetkozi_tarifak.php

It's in hungarian, but you can find a Budapest - Ljubljana for 29 EUR, and also a Budapest - Venice (Velence) also for 29 EUR, for the trip back.

Towards Budapest from Ljubljana, you should check the slovenian rail's prices.

Inside Hungary you can see the timetables and prices here:

A Budapest - P茅cs is around 15 EUR one way.
