There's this brazilian steakhouse Texas De Brazil that serves all you can eat filet mignon, lamb, sirloin, etc... that I'm dying to go for my birthday.
But I'm afraid that if i get around all that delicious meat I might lose my mind and forget I have diabetes.
SO, my question is... how much meat can I eat without doing any harm?I have Type 2 diabetes... I know i have to limit carbs but how much meat can I eat at one sitting?
Meat contains 0 carbs so you can get meat unlimited. The problem from this comes from too much fat and diabetics must watch their cholesterol. But if you are only doing it for your birthday have at it.
forget eating meat.
why not deal with the fact your diet is so bad and your body is suffering from that.
eat more FRESH vegetables.. eat more GREEN leafy veggies... eat more FRESH fruits... drink more WATER and fresh juices and get yourself a juicer and drink your vegetables.
get over the fact about things your body can't digest... and get real.
the reason you have type 2 is because you pumped so much garbage in your body and your pancreas is incapable of producing enough of what you need to absorb the sugars and fats.
food is not about delicious, food is about energy. stop being a foodie and start eating to live not live to eat.
since when is meat delicious? it's tough, full of chemicals and tastes fatty.. the animals that are pumped full of hormones in order to make the meat plump and chemicals to increase the density of the meat/tissue isn't healthy and as you well know it effects the body in not a very good way.
also stop intaking dairy... that's the biggest mistake you can make.
stop eating chemicals, stop eating processed foods.
forget snacks, meat, dairy, milk in general, take in replacements like soy and keep it fresh and lean.
you'd be surprised.
for your birthday why not experience life instead of sitting in a airconditioned place packed with other suffering individuals who are jamming processed foods down their throats and making themselves sicker, fatter and unhappy.
life is where it's at. do what so many type 2's out there have done.
of course you could do the gastric bypass then you'd be forced to take in the restricted (more healthier) diet and the likelyhood of you reversing the diabetic condition you have would be drastically increased.
type 2 is reversable in some cases... take advantage of that potential.I have Type 2 diabetes... I know i have to limit carbs but how much meat can I eat at one sitting?
One large protien meal wont hurt you. meat has no carbs.

Meat does not contain any carbs, and if you eat a lean cut, you are good to go. Cut off any excess fat. Being diabetic does not mean you have to give up any meat, just eat the lean cuts.
Diabetes type two is NOT reversible. I wish you people would go to some classes.
Well as diabetes goes, you can eat as much meat as you want. I mean it's not going to raise your sugars or anything, meat doesn't have carbs unless it has a sauce on it. (BBQ sauce, jack daniels sauce, honey, soy based sauces all have carbs)
For a one time thing I don't think there is anything wrong with that, just don't make yourself sick by eating too much! :)
You probably wouldn't want to do that on a regular basis though due to calories and cholesterol. They recommend 3-4 oz of lean meat per meal. But as I said for this one event... go for it!
Oh and Happy Birthday! :)
