I don't know how much it costs, but i know its a good way to get around Europe exspecially if your under 26 or something becuase you get a discount. How much does the eurorail cost and is it a good way to see europe and get around?
get a multi country euro pass, it is the best way to travel Europe, but plan well ahead.
If you buy your European rail pass before you leave you will pay a lot more for it.
Trains are available everywhere in Europe and their is seldomly a shortage of seats. Tickets are much cheaper to buy in country than from overseas... think of all the travel agency commissions you avoid.
How do I know this? I just lived in Switzerland for 3 years... and travelled all over the place.
I also sell rail passes as part of one of my companies. How much does the eurorail cost and is it a good way to see europe and get around?
First of all Rick, how long are you going for? Are you going ALL over Europe, or just a certain part of Europe. The reason i ask this is, there are different passes for different things people want.

Check out that webpage. That is where i have bought my passes before and again this year. Its cheaper buying the pass here in the states b/c of the currency exchange rate. But sometimes its cheaper to just buy a ticket on the spot. And others, its cheaper to just take the plane. If you buy thru that web site, there is no commision, but you should by the rail protection and I think there is reservation fees as you just cant hop onto a train, b/c some carts go to different locations as well. Also, another great place for some great information is

Theres a bunch of information for young travellers there!
