Some Eurail Passes can now be bought by Americans, and others, in Europe. Here's a link to the relevant part of Eurail FAQs which lists the available passes: http://www.eurail.com/eurail-faq-buy-in-鈥?/a>
The Passes are available from Eurail Aid Offices in selected major European train stations and airports. In Madrid you can buy a pass from the Eurail Aid Office at:
Madrid International Airport Madrid (Aeropuerto Internacional Madrid-Barajas)
- Terminal T1 arrivals counter, daily: 8.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m.
- Terminal T4 arrivals counter - daily: 8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.
Madrid Station Chamart铆n (Estaci贸n Madrid-Chamart铆n)
daily: 8.30 a.m. - 9.00 p.m.

Will I buy able to buy a Eurorail pass at the train station?Uh. NO. It's only available to Americans (or non-Europeans...can't remember what the rules are).
You might be able to get an INTERRAIL pass. Check online. Not sure what the rules are for either anymore.
