I am taking Euro rail from Amstradam to Prague to Vennice to Vianne to Florence to Zurick to Rome to Paris to London.........some are 1st class and some are economy. Any information on meals will be appreciated!I was wondering if any one knew what kind of food is served on Eurorail that is included in the tickets?
First class you get some meals depending on the package, if your going 2nd class or economy you have a snack car and dining car to choose from, it is not included but they have some appetizers, a few free drinks and one meal in FC, for the time your on the trains as they are high speed in most areas it is not like the Trans Siberian from Beijing to Moscow.I was wondering if any one knew what kind of food is served on Eurorail that is included in the tickets?
First, Eurorail sells passes that allow you to use the national trains of the various countries you'll be going through. the service depends very much on what kinds of trains you're taking in each country, but meals are not typically included in the ticket price. Some trains will have dining cars, others will not.
I've done the trip by train between Amsterdam and Prague with a train change in Brussels and there was no included food. I hope you're really going from Prague to Vienna and then to Venice and from Florence to Rome and then Zurich; it's a much more efficient route. If you're taking the night train between Vienna and Venice, you'll typically get an espresso or capuccino and a brioche in the morning. I live in northern Italy and have taken this train several times. Between Venice and Florence, you get a coffee or juice and a sweet or savory snack if you're in 1st class on one of the fast trains. Otherwise, nothing is included in the ticket. Same between Florence and Rome. When I've taken the train that runs from Rome to Zurich, it was a night train and the "meal" in the morning was like that on the Vienna to Venice train. If you take the regional trains to avoid paying the additional reservations/supplemental fees on top of the Eurail pass cost, there are not even restaurant/bar cars available. Someone may come through with a coffee cart on a few of the trains, but it won't be free.
