Eurorail Eurail pass 1st class or 2nd class?

What are the benefits over buying 1st class seats instead of 2nd class?

Is it worth paying the extra money for the first class seats and what comes included in the first class.

First class seats are more comfortable and because it may be less fully occupied, it may be easier to store luggage sometimes. In some first class compartments here in Italy, they come by with newspapers and snacks/drinks. The 2nd class and 1st class all arrive at the same destination at the same time though. I only go for 1st class seats when I know the trains will be especially crowded and it might be standing room in 2nd class - for example, to/from the Christmas markets in northern Italy on the opening weekend.

If you are on a tight budget, buy 2nd class Eurail pass.

The only difference is the type of wagon, not as comfortable as the first class, and typically more crowded.

First class is quite more expensive, but roomier and not as crowded.

Some trains do not have first class, and if you do have a first class Eurail pass, you have no choice but travel in 2nd. class, without possibility of a reimbursement.

If money is not a big issue, go 1st class.

Bon voyage.
