I will have exactly 14 days to see europe and will travel around by train. I'm wondering what the best route would be that balances travel times so I can still enjoy the countries. I will have to start and end from Athens, Greece because that's where I'm flying in/out of. Thanks. What is the best europe train (eurorail) route to see the best of europe if I'm starting and ending in Athens?
Athens is a long way from most of the area covered by the Eurail pass.
Have a look on this map, 9 is Greece, you see, it is not connected to the other Eurail countries:

The most used options are a ferry crossing to and from Italy, takes quite a while and is not free. Or a cheap flight out of Greece to one of the other countries that are in the system. You could fly to one and return from an other.
The most logical option would be to change your point of entry into Europe, if it is not too late for that.
On this map you can find the railway systems for most of Europe, also for countries that do not join into the Eurail system:

It is possible to take a train from Greece to Romania or Croatia, but you will have to pay for that, and it will still take a long time.
You can use this website for train times and durations of the travels:

And this site has good information on traveling by train, almost world wide, its page on passes is also good:
