Will the St Louis Arch be visible from the highway?

We are heading West on rt 70 and will probably be coming through St. Louis early - mid morning on a saturday. Will we be able to see it by just driving through on this route? Also if it is only about 4am when we go through will it be lit up or does it only stay lit for a few hours at night? If it is only about 6-7am will it be open for visitors AND is it worth it? (we are traveling with 4 little kids, we would be breaking up a 24hr drive by stopping here since its about half way to our destination but I want to make wherever we stop worthwhile...lots of running/fresh air)Will the St Louis Arch be visible from the highway?
yes it is visible if its a clear day you will see a light on top

the park around will be open but the rest more than likely will be closed until 8 or 9 A

yes it is a great place to stop and go to the top
Driving the route of -170 is probably one of the best views, along most of the other highways in St. Louis to see the St. Louis Arch, even though it may be foggy during the day.

It is worth stopping to see the St. Louis Arch and the River Front. The have a gift shop and museum at the leg of the arch. It is also within walking distance of the Old Cathedral and Laclede's LandingWill the St Louis Arch be visible from the highway?
You will definitely see it as you come across from Illinois. It is worth seeing but it doesnt open until 9 AM.
It is right along the river. It can be seen from Interstate 70 as well as the surrounding area..
Just make sure that you stay on I-70 all the way downtown. If you are passing through Wentzville I would get off at I-64/US40 and go east there instead. This will take you through West County and you won't have to risk breaking down in north St. Louis on I-70. If you take this route you won't get a good view of the Arch until you get downtown because the new Federal Courthouse building blocks it.

On I-70 you will get a good view around the Broadway exit looking past the Lumiere Casino. You will probably want to get off here anyway.

The arch is only lit during certain times. With birds migrating they are unlit because the light distracts them.

Be safe and enjoy your visit.
Try to arrive in the area mid-morning if possible. There is no way that you won't see the arch, unless you're asleep. You will be able to see the arch several miles before you get to the bridge crossing the Mississippi river. As you cross the river, you will only be about 2-3 blocks from the arch. The arch grounds are right on the river front. There's parking down on the levee. I think that the stop would be very worth while. There will be lots of area to go running and also to exercise the kids. There is a museum in the base of the arch and you can go up in it also. I don't know the hours of operation, but mid morning should do fine.

It is lit 24-7.
