Where is the best place to see waterfalls in Washington state?

We are trying to plan something out of the ordinary that we have never had the opportunity for on our anniversary. We are military so the area is new to us and we would like to take advantage of the beautiful scenery WA has to offer. I hear there are many waterfalls here but that is all I know. Another thing is we do not want to camp. A hotel is very desirable because of two reasons. We never have a babysitter so the kids (2yrs. and 8yrs.) will be with us and two is it will be for the weekend of May 1st, I anticipate rain. I hear good things about Olympic National Park but again, I have no idea what would be best for our situation with the kids and we just want something like trails. You know, just to observe nature.
