Not really. Its still a national monument as the Gateway to the West. No other city has that honor.
No, T, it's still The Gateway to the West. I will admit, that federal building takes away some visual impact when coming in from the west and southwest, but it's still a mighty manmade force to be reckoned with. Needs some infrastructure work, of course.Has the St. Louis Arch lost its symbolism?
No only its shininess as rust and corrosion are taking its toll on the monument.
It is still the Gateway to the West and attracts lots of tourists
